Housing determines the outcome of a person's life. Where you live decides your access to education, how often you encounter the police, your ability to grow generational wealth. Columbia does not have a housing policy. The only regulations are the Unified development code and building code development. We often have citizen involved taskforces that provide what should be how we want to grow and where. Or Fair Housing task forces or homelessness services organizations. Unfortunately, no policy has resulted.
